Executive & Board Advisory
I sit with leadership teams, boards and audit committees on AI governance, platform risk, cybersecurity obligations and regulatory exposure, and I hold non-executive director and advisory board seats.
Why now
NIS2 puts cybersecurity oversight on the management body and makes the accountability personal. DORA does the same for financial entities, and the EU AI Act adds obligations that reach the board before they reach the engineering team. Directors are being asked to sign off on technology decisions they have no independent way to interrogate.
What you get
- Direct engagement with leadership teams, boards and audit committees
- AI governance and platform risk framed for the people accountable for it
- Cybersecurity obligations and regulatory exposure across multiple jurisdictions
- Non-executive director and advisory board roles
Boards are asked to take responsibility for technology decisions they have no way to interrogate. The questions arrive already translated, usually by the people whose work is being assessed, and by the time a director can tell that the translation was optimistic the exposure has been carried for several quarters.
I work directly with leadership teams, boards and audit committees on AI governance, platform risk, cybersecurity obligations and regulatory exposure. It is the territory where CISO and CTO thinking converge, and in my experience it is where organizations currently have the least clarity, because it asks for someone fluent in both registers who will not lose precision in either.
It matters most for organizations operating across several jurisdictions at once, or entering markets where the threat environment is unfamiliar and the local assumptions do not transfer. I have spent nearly thirty years working across the US, Europe, Japan and APAC, and that is where the judgment comes from.
I also serve in non-executive director and advisory board roles. Most of them are held under confidentiality, so they are not listed here. If a specific reference would help, ask on the call and I will say what I can.
What it costs
Four figures per month, or an annual fee for a board seat (indicative)
Board seats are agreed separately from advisory retainers.
